The diagnostic test is a tool to help in the placement of your student in our curriculum. It allows us to customize your student's program and identify any learning gaps.
Does my student have to take the placement test to enroll in the Academy?
Yes, our placement tests allow us to design the best possible curriculum for your student's needs. Unlike a standardized test, our placement test is based on our curriculum. Missed questions will identify learning gaps, which will allow your Carbon Canyon Christian School guidance counselor to assign the specific material that your child needs.

How does the Academy accommodate students who are a grade level behind in one or two of their subjects?
Based on the placement test results and transfer credits, our guidance counselors will determine the academic level of your student and customize the program accordingly. If your student is behind and needs to catch up, we can create a customized subject to help. Similarly, if your student is advanced, the appropriate level in each subject will be assigned.
Can my student also take classes outside of the Academy for credit?
Outside courses are allowed, but must be pre-approved by the Academy and meet specific requirements.
Do you offer an official transcript for outside courses that are approved for Academy credit?
The credit will show on our transcript as a transfer credit with the school name from which the credit was transferred to, or as a "home-school" course if the course was administered by the parent.
Will your program prepare my student for college?
Carbon Canyon Christian School's college preparatory course of study is designed to prepare students for entrance to most universities and colleges. Due to the fact that each college or university has its own entrance requirements, the student will want to consult with the school of his or her choice in order to tailor a high school program which meets specific requirements of that institution.
Will the credits be accepted if my student transfers to another school?
Carbon Canyon Christian School's transcript is accepted by most high schools; each school can accept or reject any transfer credits. If you anticipate a transfer to a local high school in the future, we recommend contacting the high school to verify that all credits will be accepted towards graduation.

The registration fee is non-refundable regardless of placement test results. Tuition refunds are available up to 60 days after shipment of curriculum and are allowed on the following basis: 0-60 days: 100% refund, less the unreturned curriculum and units graded (pro-rated fee). No refunds are given after 60 days of original shipment. Credit will not be given for curriculum returned after 60 days. Items damaged in shipping, or showing signs of handling, are not accepted for credit.

Twenty-one credits are required to graduate. If your student is transferring from another school, your student will need to complete a minimum of one full year, or 5 credits, with the Academy. If your student has been home-schooled, additional credits may be required if proper documentation cannot be provided for previous coursework.
What do I do if I have been home schooling and don't have any transcripts for my student?
Diagnostic testing may verify enough knowledge to give credit, if you can prove that your student has taken the course. We usually recommend sending as much information as possible in the way of test scores, records, copies of tests, lessons plans, attendance records, etc., for the counselor to evaluate when setting up a high school academic program.
